Nehme Gabriel, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist, internal medicine physician, and nutritionist. He is one of the highly-skilled physicians offering care to patients at Gastroenterology & Nutrition of Central Florida in The Villages, Leesburg, and Brownwood Paddock Square in Wildwood, Florida.
Dr. Gabriel has served the tri-county area for more than 20 years with privileges at The Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He performs his outpatient procedures at two surgery centers: Villages Endoscopy & Surgical Center and Tavares Surgery Center.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Lebanese University School of Medicine, Dr. Gabriel went to Lille, France, where he completed two years of residency training. He then moved to the United States and joined The Staten Island University Hospital residency program in New York City and subsequently completed a gastroenterology fellowship at SUNY in New York. That was followed by an additional Fellowship training in Nutrition at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Gabriel was elected multiple terms as Chief of Gastroenterology and Chief of Medicine at The Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He is the founder and former Editor-in-Chief of the "Nutrition Journal," an online, peer-reviewed journal.
Dr. Gabriel was voted "Top Doctor" 12 years in a row by his peers and colleagues, through a survey conducted by the reputable and independent research firm Castle Connolly and published in "U.S. News and World Report." He is highly experienced and proficient in a wide variety of GI procedures and conditions.
